Uninstall Expert

When you no longer need the functionality of an application, it is a good idea to remove it. You can easily do that with the Uniture Software-developed application, the appropriately named Uninstall Expert. After it uninstalls an application, this tool will check for Registry leftovers and remove them. It will also display Registry info on installed applications and will present a list of applications that load at startup automatically.

Uninstall Expert’s system requirements are quite low: 533MHz processor, 128MB of RAM, graphics card capable of 800x600 resolution, Windows operating system (anything from Windows 2000 up to Windows 7). Even older PCs won’t have any problems meeting these system requirements; modern ones will run Uninstall Expert without any issues.

There are two main tabs in the upper left hand side on Uninstall Expert’s interface: Program List and Startup Items. Under the Program List tab you will find a list of applications installed on your machine; from the buttons to the right you can view details on an installed application and you can start the uninstall process. Under the Startup Items tab you will see a list of applications that run automatically when Windows boots up. From the buttons to the right you can disable all the entries on the list and delete individual entries.

The nice thing about Uninstall Expert is that it is quite easy to use. Just select an application you no longer need, and hit the Uninstall button. If you can’t find the application in the list, use the handy search box. Once the uninstall process completes, Uninstall Expert will ask to look for data left by the application in the Windows Registry. If it finds anything, it will remove it.

Perhaps you don’t want to uninstall an application, you just need quick access to its installation directory. On its interface, Uninstall Expert provides links to the directories where you installed your applications. With a simple click, you can access an application’s installation directory.

Having too many applications that automatically run at startup can lead to long startup times and decreased performance. Uninstall Expert presents you with a list of applications that do this. Go over the list and remove the applications that don’t need to run at startup.
